PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Hi Everyone,
I hope all is well now that spring has almost arrived. All though it should be a lot warmer as you read this, vs. when I am writing this. Anyhow, march 20th, we had our fur collection and spring meeting. I thought that it was well attended, even with the less than average catch this year. Our fur manger sent me a report on the total’s of pelts ship. Beaver 72, coyote 2, Raccoon 303, Opossum 20, Skunks 3, Gray Fox 10, Red Fox 152, Mink 34, Muskrat 2834, and Squirrel 2. Last year was much more and better weather.
We had two guest speakers, Michael Valent who is in charge of the Bobcat study and Andrew Burnett our fur bearer Biologist. I would like to thank the both of them for coming out and taking their time to give us their reports.
Things discussed. I am sure our secretary can give a better run down on the minuets
We are going to have more meetings; our next meeting will be Sun, May 15 at Basto Village. We are setting up our booth at the Decoy show. If you can make it give one of our officers a call so we know if you are coming and I can give you directions and exact time. Their, we will talk about our summer meeting and BBQ in July.
We are going to also have a new web site, more modern and a lot better for communication and education. This new site will have a talk forum for Q&A, as well as a buy, sell, trade, section. There will also be many links to other educational sites as well as trying to pay your Dues on line. We will send out notices when we are up and running.
We also decided not to run the add in the Fish & Game Digest this year. In the past two years we only received about a half dozen responses on that add, and we will save us around $350 by removing it. We also feel that we can reach more people on the web site. There will be a lot more to talk about at the May meeting so please try to attend. Hope to see you their Ron TIP; If a confrontation with a skunk didn’t go well, try peroxide, baking soda, dish soap in warm water to remove the smell. Clothes can be replaced!
