PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Greetings to all. First of all, if you are sending in a new or renewal of your ITA membership, please send it to Patty’s Des Moines address not to her old Perry P.O. Box. Patty’s address is 1428 41st St. Des Moines, IA 50311 There was a type error with her Des Moines address in the June/July issue and the Perry P.O. box was not corrected under the membership options.
With this issue, hopefully her address will be corrected to indicate her Des Moines address below the “Membership Options” and just above “President’s Report” column. The August issue had her correct contact info under Secretary of the officers listing. I know there have been some issues with and for members during this time. I apologize to all who have been involved for the inconvenience it has created.
The officer positions up for election this fall are Vice President & Secretary. Both Randy & Patty accepted nominations for their current officer positions on the BOD. Nominations from the membership will remain open until the General Membership meeting to be held Sept 17. Nominees’ consent must be obtained prior to his or her name being placed in nomination. Nominees must be paid-up members in good standing with the ITA.
Tom Walters is still in need of trapline photos for the photo contest. Categories are – Animal in trap, Trapper and Catch, Multiple Catch and Youth – 16 and under. Cash prizes are awarded. Send your pictures to Tom Walters 1723 20th St. Bettendorf, IA 52772. Winning photos will be picked at the fall convention.
As stated before, we will have a sign up sheet at the fall convention for the ITA Fur Action to be held Saturday January 7, 2012 at 9:00 A.M.in Boone, same place as last years. Guidelines will remain pretty much the same as this last years auction.
The next Board Meeting will be Sept. 16 at 1:00 P.M. at the fairgrounds in Winterset. As always all members are welcome to attend.
Better go for now, til next time.

CONVENTION REPORT
The Iowa Trappers Fall convention will be held at the Madison County Fairgrounds in Winterset which is located about 35 miles SW of Des Moines. The grounds are located about 1/2 mile east of the junctions of Hwy 92 & Hwy 169 at the west side of town. For people with a GPS unit the address next door to the grounds is 1204 West Summit. That address is for the Madison County Auction which on the same side of the street, but just west of the fairgrounds. If you are coming in on I-80, exit at exit 110 go south to get to Winterset, or if you are on I-35 exit at exit 56 and go west. The ITA will have signs once you get to Winterset to direct you to the grounds.
