PRESIDENT’S REPORT

The trapping season is well underway. I started beaver trapping yesterday. I snared my first beaver. The first one today taken by the legalized snare here in East Tennessee.

I would like to make a point about the TWRA laws restricting trapping around bridges and state right of ways. Tennessee trappers need to take pictures of beaver dams blocking bridges and culverts or any other place that you see near the right of ways. Pease send them to Chris Jacobsen (cjacobsen@nlbengineering.com) or myself Mike Renfro (mikejrenfro@yahoo.com). Please note the location (county, city, road). We plan on attempting to reverse this law. Remember, this will take the help of everyone.

I would like to thank NAFA for pickups in Tennessee. The TFTA is the host association for Tennessee. All TFTA members need to contact the NAFA agents and let them know you are a member. Let them know how much you shipped and how much for each species.

FUR AUCTIONS. The auctions have been scheduled and the buildings have been reserved for three (3) TFTA Fur Auctions for the 2008-2009 Season.
