STATE ORGANIZER’S REPORT

Trappers, I don’t know about your parts of the state but plenty of rain has been falling here in Middle Tennessee. I believe it may have put somewhat of a damper on a lot of water trapping. This season, due to my regular job, family and other things thrown in, I am getting a late start setting. At this time I am setting traps as the water is residing.

I just went out to set up a familiar area that I have trapped in several years past. To my surprise, a new house has been recently built since last season on the opposite side of the creek. In the past, this stretch of creek has been a good place to take a few ’coon, rats and an occasional beaver. I need to make it a point to go over and talk to the new homeowners in person. Maybe they can give me some more access to trapping areas.

Right now, I don’t know what fur prices are going to be for this season fur sure. I’m just going to have some fun and get some exercise while trapping. Hey! Some people like to play golf.
Hey, don’t forget the NTA South East 6th Annual Convention May 1 to 3, 2009, in Williamston, NC and the 50th NTA National Convention from July 30 to Aug. 2 in Lima, OH.
