PRESIDENT’S REPORT
I know it has been some time since the last report in this publication. There has not been much to report on, everything has been quiet. My family and I were able to attend the national convention in Lima, Ohio this summer and we had a wonderful time. There seemed to be a really big turnout with lots of vendors and tailgaters. If you needed something for trapping, it was there. If you’ve never been to a national show before, do yourself a favor and go. You will not be disappointed.
You might be reading this just before our annual convention and if you are, please plan to attend and support the SCTA. Bring the whole family and enjoy the fellowship of your fellow trappers. We will be reporting on the legislation and our plans to get it on through the legislature this session. This is also an election year. Our directors have done a great job and I thank them for it, but I know they wouldn’t mind some new blood to step up and be involved.
If you would like to become an officer with the SCTA, please contact us and get your name in the hat. I’m sure some of you have some good ideas that will help the association become even stronger. I myself plan to be involved if I’m an officer or a member at large because I care too much about my sport and my association to sit back and let other groups or organization make decisions for us.
The children and I attended the NC Trappers convention last month and had a ball. Those guys up there put on a really good show and make you feel really welcome. My hat is off to them. Don’t forget the auction, bring something to donate and bid high on all the other stuff.
See you then.
