VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Hello fellow trappers. It seems that spring is upon us. By the time you read this report, seasons will have closed across the state, and your traps and gear will be put away for another year. Of course, as trappers, we now turn our attention to our off-season work.
As you set about this task, I would ask that you not forget to remain active in your state association during the off-season. The NCTA and NCWRC are holding several trappers education courses this spring and summer. The advanced courses are paid events and last 3 days with lodging included. There is also a free 1 day course being offered in the mountain, piedmont, and coastal regions of the state. Details for all courses are available on our website, as well as the NCWRC website.
This brings me to an important point. Last year, we launched a new website and talk forum. We still have a lot of work to do, as far as adding information to our main page, but the talk forum is running smoothly. There is a wealth of information to be had, as well as a chance to keep in touch with fellow trappers across the state. If you have Internet access, you should to join the website and use the talk forum. It’s the best way to keep up with what is happening with our association in real time. The web address is as follows, http://nctrapper.proboards.com . I am by no means computer savy, so if I can use it, anyone can. The talk forum is a great resource and we need to utilize it.
I’ll bring this to a close for now. My report in the next issue should have more information, as we have a meeting scheduled for March 19th. I’ll keep you informed.
