PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Hello Members and fellow Trappers,

Trapping season is now over and by the time you are reading this all Fur Sales are final. I will have the reports from the sale at Bulls Gap in the next issue along with the final report for the recipients of the “Rocky Top” awards. I want to thank everyone for all their help and support for the fur sales. It is looking like fur prices are on the rise again, so that is good news for everyone.

Due to recent events pertaining to the Membership Secretary and Treasurer, all new membership dues and questions pertaining to T&PC subscriptions should be sent to James Lord at 19 Mallard Ln Lexington Tn 38351. This situation will be discussed further at our Spring Meet at Harrison Bay State Park near Chattanooga on April 15th-16th. I urge as many Members and Directors to be there if possible. There will be a Directors Meeting on Friday evening of the 15th. We have had way too many problems with members getting their membership cards and or magazine and this is not acceptable. Thank you for you continued support and I want to apologize for any inconvenience you may have due to this. The problems are being handled immediately.

TFHA will again hold the Hiwassee Trapper Training Camp at the Hiwassee Wildlife refuge on May 20th-22nd. If you have any questions and or would like to help out please contact John Daniel or Wendell Reeves. For those of you wanting to attend, please let John or Wendell know so we can get a good estimation of how many will be there. We usually have near 80 people total, and are expecting that many or more, but with your help by contacting us we can better serve you by having sufficient staff and food there to maintain an easy going weekend. There will plenty of activities and you will get to learn many tricks and tactics from some of the best trappers in the State. Hope to see you there.

Also, I want to mention the SE NTA again. It will be held in Tupelo MS again this year, and lets show our support by attending the event. I know for some of our members that is a fairly long drive for you, but I am sure it will be worth it. Also, we can use some help at the TFHA booth, so if you can, stop by and lend a hand.

On a personal note, my wife Jamie and I would like to thank everyone for their thanks and support for the arrival of our daughter RyLeigh. She is a handful already but we are enjoying all of it. Hopefully we will be able to bring her to Fall Creek Falls for the convention.

Thanks again, and if you have any questions you can reach me at 731 614-2531 or email to jlord2003@aol.com. Also you can reach me through our web site at tfhaonline.net. The web site is growing and we now have over 120 members online.

— James Lord

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT

At the time of this writing we still have one final fur sale at Bulls Gap. The way things are shaping up it promises to be our best sale of the year. I stoped by Harrison Bay State Park a couple of days ago and looked things over its a great place for our spring meet. Remember the date April 15-17 I look forward to seeing everyone there. Remember our trailer fund drive it would be great if we could have a Hall of Fame trailer ready by Fall Creek Falls.

We are still collecting items for our scrap book it would also be great to have it together by Fall Creek Falls. If you would like to set up a T.F.H.A. booth please let us know and we’ll be glad help you get it set up. Any one interested in doing a seed swap at our spring meet bring your seeds. The Hiwassee Trapper training camp will be May 20-22 any one interested helping let me know. The camp is open to all.

Hope everyone has a great spring see at Harriso Bay State Park.
