DIRECTOR’S REPORT

Hello from Kalispell,

I hope you all know by now that the initiative to end trapping, I 160 failed to get on the ballot by 4,000 votes and 2 house districts. As welcome as that news is, there are still reasons to worry about our future. The anti’s have already declared the loss a huge victory and promised to be back in 2012. I find it sad that these folks do not have anything better to do than to mind someone else’s business, but the reality is what it is. We must not just stop and become complacent or they may mind our business better than we do. To that end, we are exploring ways to remain proactive and you can expect future news.

As always, a large project requires many hands to sucessfully complete. I want to thank all of our partners and supporters for their help in defeating the last initiative, and I will ask (beg, plead and grovel) that the donation of suggestions, effort and dollars remain available for the next test whereever it may be located. Thank you all.

— Rick Hawk
