PRESIDENT’S REPORT
It’s cold here today as I write this report. I am trying to keep my feet warm by going back and forth from the shed to the house. There are some dates you need to keep in mind for the next few months.
Jan. 23, 2010 – MTA Auction at Boone County Fairgrounds, Columbia. If you still need a number, contact Jim Weberry at 573-543-2130.
Feb. 6, 2010 – MTA Auction at Boone County Fairgrounds, Columbia. Contact Jim Weberry at 573-543-2130.
Feb. 20, 2010 – District 6 at MO Trapshooters Association in Linn Creek with the Rendezvous Committee. Contact Robbie Page at 660-888-2369 or Dale Verts at 573-789-5690. They are getting the 2010 Fall Rendezvous finalized.
Feb. 27, 2010 – 9th District MTA Banquet, contact Kenny Wells at 573-247-0661 for details.
March 20, 2010 – MTA Spring Meeting at District 7, Cooper County Fairgrounds. The Board of Directors will meet in the morning and the General Meeting starts at 1 p.m. There will be several things to discuss at the Spring Meeting, so I hope to see you there.
I know Rick Friedrich will be scheduling planning meetings for the 2011 NTA Convention. The dates and times will be announced as they form. And I still need a Chairman for the By-Laws Committee. If you are interested in volunteering for this committee, let me know. You can check with your District Director for things going on in your area. I’m sure they would like to hear from you, especially if you are volunteering to help out. That is the name of the game.
I hope to see you at one or all of these functions. Be careful out there and stay warm.
— Doren Miller
TREASURER’S REPORT
Hello everyone, hope your holiday season was a good one. Elaine and I had a good time also. We had 24 people in our house for Christmas dinner. We did a lot of visiting and eating.
Well our trapping season is going OK. Not catching all that much, but really enjoying being out on the line and the fresh air. Speaking of trapping, Dale Verts and myself had a trapping clinic and I met a man who was interested in learning to trap. So I tried to answer all his questions. As we talked, we found out we had a lot in common, we are both retired lineman. And one thing lead to another and now we are trapping some together. And talking about our old jobs and having a good time out on the trapline.
If you get a chance, take someone on your line and show them what it is like to trap, whether it be a kid or an adult and just spend some time with them. Till next time, be safe out there.
God Bless.
