TREASURER’S REPORT
Greetings To All:
This report contains a table displaying the averages and other pertinent figures for the ITA fur auction held in Fairfield, Illinois on January 22, 2011. Prior to displaying that information, many thanks must be offered to all those whose efforts helped to make this auction successful. Harvey Fenton and Mike Gragert performed auctioneer duties and Cody Champ conducted the 50/50 coon raffle. Wes Johnson registered sellers and buyers and Paul Kelley directed the firearm raffle. Louis Glidewell, Carroll Williams, and Mike Gragert handled the fur grading and Carroll Williams again served as the Auction Chairman.
Rod Schrage and family, Seth Groes, Scott Hertel, and many others participated in various ways to help make the auction a success, including the bundling of fur and making sure all lots crossed the auction table intact. Again, without the folks bringing furs to sell and the buyers showing up to purchase goods, we couldn’t conduct the auctions, so many thanks to those people. As I stated for the Odell auction, if I’ve overlooked your efforts, please accept my apologies and thanks. Rob Lindley of Greenville, Illinois won the 50/50 coon raffle and his winnings totaled $231.00. On behalf of the ITA, many thanks to all those who donated pelts for this fundraiser.
Finally, before I get to the tabular details of the auctions, I want to remind all ITA members that we now have a working website at http://illinoistrappersassociation.com. I recommend that all members check out the website from time to time, as we often post news items and other valuable information (e.g., auction dates, convention dates, Officer and Director contact information, etc.) on the site. Please plan to utilize the website, as well as these monthly columns, to keep current with all the pertinent information and goings on of the ITA.

Finally, a note regarding the Trapper and Predator Caller subscriptions: if you are a current member, you should expect to receive a renewal notice from the publisher of the magazine (ITA does not generate or send these to your address…the magazine publisher does so) around 3 months prior to the end of your subscription. When you receive this notice in the mail, please take note of your renewal date and make every effort to get the form and payment in early.
If you wait and cut it close, you will run a risk of letting your membership and subscription lapse, thereby missing issue(s) of the magazine. I submit a membership subscription list once each month to the publisher. Since this is the case, I also usually only deposit membership dues once each month.
This typically happens in the second or third week of each month. If you happen to submit your check to me right after I have made my monthly deposit (i.e., the middle of month “A”, for instance), it is quite conceivable that you may not have your check cashed until the latter part of month “B”. Therefore, your check may not actually clear your bank for over one month. Please do not be alarmed with this situation; it just happens to fit in with the cycle on which our subscriptions are due each month.
I welcome your calls if you have any concerns regarding your membership but thought I’d supply this explanation to allay some possible fears concerning checks that take awhile to clear, etc. Please rest assured, we make the best possible effort to insure that your magazine service will continue uninterrupted. Sending your payments in soon after you receive your renewal notice will help to greatly expedite that process. Thanks in advance for your willingness to help in this regard.
God Bless ‘til next time!
— Tim Kelley
