PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Greetings all. It’s been a long, hot summer here in NC. I hope you have been able to get on the water to do some fishing and enjoy time with family. Trapping season will be here before you know it, and hopefully fur prices will rebound to make the reward for all of our hard work more appealing.

I would like to invite everyone to the 39th Annual NCTA Convention. It will be held at the Johnston County Livestock Arena in Smithfield once again this year. The dates will be September 24th and 25th 2010. Vendors may set up on Thursday the 23rd. There will be demos and other events going on all day Friday and Saturday, so come on out and bring the family. Will be a good time to stock up on trapping supplies for the upcoming season. Wayne Rose will be mailing out tickets for our gun raffle. Please try to sell all the tickets you can. This is one way we raise money for the NCTA. If you need more tickets, you can contact Wayne at 252 809 3358 or at crossrdhoneyfarm@embarqmail.com.

Here is the Agenda for the 2010 state convention.

CONTESTS will include black powder rifle, archery and trap setting for adults and youths. A seed spitting contest and pumpkin coloring contest will be held for the younger children.

An AUCTION will be held Saturday afternoon that will help support the NCTA in promoting responsible trapping by conducting educational and training programs across NC.
