VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT
As furharvesting season is now under way, hope everyone is having a safe and enjoyable time, and are catching some fur. It’s everyone’s guess, what can we expect for prices. They may be down, but we must be thankful for what they have been for the past several years. All things seem to run in a cycle and I guess we are going back to the downward time. The old standbys will still be out there for the sport of it.
We had a great time and turnout for our advanced fur harvesters eduction class. The youth were very attentive and I hope they were able to learn a few pointers. May they have a lifetime of enjoyment in the great outdoors.
Wishing all a happy and safe holiday.
God Bless All.

DISTRICT 16 REPORT
District 16 held our meeting at John & Sandy Borror’s home, on Nov. 2, 2008 at 6 p.m.. There were 32 members and guests who enjoyed the fish fry and covered dish dinner. John called the meeting to order, and expressed the need of a secretary. After discussion Dana Peugh volunteered for the job. The motion was made and seconded to add a second member to the checking account. (passed) John also told everyone about the booth at the Wilson county “Old Iron Days”. There were photos of the booth & part of the 1,000 plus kids. Each of the teachers were given an educational packet to tell more about trapping and fur management.
John shared with everyone the items the were in the packet. The motion was made and seconded the District 16 would buy 1,000 of the coloring books that are in the packet and will hand them out in the future to kids at the different booths the district sets up. (passed) John thanked everyone from our district for all the help at the State Convention in Yates Center and thanks to all the officers and members of KFH who helped make it a huge success.
We are very happy with the great turn out we had. The auction was a BIG hit, thanks for all the donations. There were a lot of demo’s vender’s and supplies. Not to mention all the good cooking. (Bean feed on Friday and a Fish fry on Saturday).
And we can’t forget the time we shared with old friends and the new friends we made. District 16 donated $114 to each the KFH and the NTA, representing $1 per plate from the Saturday Night Fish Fry. In 2009, the State convention will also be at Yates Center. We look forward to seeing everyone there. So start making your plans early. John shared with everyone the district financial statement for the 2008 year. We discussed the KFH booth at the Boat Show in Wichita, Ks and also at the State Fair Hutchinson, Ks. There is always a need for extra help. Just let W.R. Brechisen know when you are able to be there to help.
District 16 will have our second annual “Wild Game Feed” on Feb. 8, 2009. We will start at 5 p.m. We would like to invite all the surrounding District to join in. So, cook up your favorite wild game dish and come join in. Door Prizes were drown for the meeting was adjourned.
Best Wishes for a great season.
