SECRETARY/NEWSLETTER EDITOR’S REPORT

The meeting was called to order by President Howe at 5:06 p.m. November 15. Attendance was light due to this being opening weekend of gun season for deer.

Les wedge won the 50/50. Art Manz won the 110 donated by Howe Trapping Supplies. Hugh McDonald mentioned that he couldn’t find the draft fisher Management plan on the DEC website. Apparently it is not released for public comment as yet.

President’s list:

The election of officers is during the December meeting.

Club dues were due in September.

The Independent Fur Harvesters fur auction is December 20 at the Pompey Rod and Gun Club in Fabius. They still have raffle tickets available for their bear hunt. See Bill if you are interested (607-756-6763).

Bill Howe will do the demo next month. Hugh will bring the food.

Art Manz read the treasurer’s report. Hugh moved to accept it. Les seconded the motion which passed. Art also read the annual report. Good job!

Les mentioned that he invited last month’s guest from Alberta, Canada to spend the night at his house. They discussed differences in trapping regulations in New York and Alberta.

Les mentioned that Russ Phelps is still looking for a nice looking female red fox for his taxidermy project and is willing to buy one from someone. He can be reached at 607-591-9832.

Round table:

Lou Giacco mentioned that the SAFE Act wants all handgun licenses to expire at two years.

Jim Hickey said that police in the Buffalo area watch the papers for obituaries of handgun owners. The family has two weeks to surrender the handguns or the police confiscate all the guns, long guns included, without a court order.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:43.

Respectfully submitted. — Les Wedge
