PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Here in Southern Connecticut, the season started with a long warm spell, low fur prices, much higher license fees and another owl caught in a foothold.
Interesting times.
The weather did eventually turn colder, fur is still low and license fees high, but the owl seemed to disappear.
The battle we had last year when the Anti’s presented a one-legged owl complete with a foothold was quite a battle (even though the dog was bent). The legislators got quite an education, at least those who would listen, and all turned out well.
This year, when the owl was presented, the Anti’s posted a reward for the perpetrator.
Perplexing.
Being that no law-abiding trapper could come up with an owl, we offered double the reward.
Who got the education?
Reason always stand true when the whirlwind of emotions settles.
May your chains be tight.
