VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Howdy to all. This is sort of a prez/VP report, as John is working too much to write personally. So, for both of us, we want to thank everyone for their attendance at the Rendezvous. Special thanks to Ernie and Betty for the use of the land.
We had a great time at a private place just out of Redding. Fire hazard was high, but nothing unusual for the time of year. Weather was pretty pleasant, considering; the shade was quite enjoyable.
Thanks to John, James, Angel, and Louie for raffle items; extra hooray for Louie’s amazing chicken barbecue! Art and Joe both donated traps to the raffle, for which we are grateful.
I want to apologize for not giving everyone the lead time we promised. We are having some difficulty with the CTA’s Member Roster. As soon as we can iron out the situation, we will be able to send a mailer out to confirm details before the time comes and goes.
During the annual Meeting, we discussed having an input and proposing changes to the Regs through the Fish & Game Commission. There are things that could streamline the code and work to our benefit without the screaming and hair-pulling that results from most of our political positions. More to follow….
John thinks that next year’s Rendezvous might be better held around the end of April/first of May for weather considerations. Sounds good.
Funny thing, I had my first in-town otter wreaking havoc a long way from big water. It had taken up residence in a large koi pond and was stashing the fish under a foot bridge; a couple of fish were still alive when I got there. By big pond, I mean about 25 x 10 feet, not yards. Big angry male otter, fun guy, killed hundreds of dollars worth of fish in the space of a day. Fun.
The season is fast approaching. Garden is puttering out, weather’s cooling off, not that it got hot around here at all to begin with.
Talk to you when season’s in full swing. Hope you had a great summer.
