VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT
As fall is fast approaching and harvesting season will soon be here, hope everyone is prepared, and have a safe and enjoyable season. We need to send a big Thank You to all the dealers who made the Fall Rendezvous a great success. A big thanks also goes out to John and Sandy Borror and the members of District 16 for being the hosts for the rendezvous. What a great job they did and the outstanding meals that they prepared for all.
With fur harvesting season around the corner, so are the fur auctions. The auction dates for the upcoming season will be Dec. 20, 2008, Jan. 17, 2009, and Feb. 21, 2009 at Abilene, Ks. The numbers can be reserved 30 days prior to the first auction, Nov. 20, 2008, by calling 785-346-2076 or 785-346-6017.
On the days of the auctions, the doors will open at 7 a.m., and volunteers will be needed to help setup, and also volunteers will be needed throughout the day to help work the fur tables. Please bunch your furs so we can save time and money for the organization.
Have had a great time with our youth since August. It is great to see the parents and grandparents bring out the youth and let them enjoy the outdoor activities at the youth fairs. All seemed to enjoy themselves whether it be fishing, shotgun, rifle, black powder, archery, air rifle, traps and furs or paintguns.
Enjoyed taking the students and teachers on tours of the rendezvous. We all need to take a youth with us just once, on a ’coon hunt or trapline, so they may see what the great outdoors has for each and everyone to enjoy.

DISTRICT 3 REPORT
Hello all. By the time you read this, trapping season will be started, hope you all have a good one. On Sept. 27 Roger and Donna Macy and myself (Cleo Hahn) went to Kirwin, Ks for a Fur Harvesters Education course with three present of which two were under 14 and will receive a free membership to the KFHA for a year.
The fall rendezvous was a big success thank to John Borror and company. District 3 members Roger and Donna Macy and myself (Cleo Hahn) had a fur harvester education course at the Macy’s on Oct. 18 with 18 students of which 10 were under 14 years of age. They will also receive a free membership to the KFHA for a year.
Thanks to members Bob Karrick, Michelle and Mackenzie Haeffele, and Carol Hartman for helping with the meal and paperwork. Nov. 15 and 16 we will have our third Advanced fur harvester education course held at the Macy’s. Thanks Roger and Donna. District 3 will once again have the concessions at the auctions in Abilene in which the proceeds go to our Outdoor Youth Fair held in Osborne in Sept.
To the members of District 3. Any of you that would like to get involved in any of our activities please contact me at 785-346-2773 or 785-346-45541. It is hard to come up with a date to have a meeting and I sometimes wonder why have one when it’s the same few that attend and make decisions.
I sure would like to get more involvement from you so if you would like to host a meeting or have suggestions on location for one please call me.
