PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Hello Trappers,

It was a hot NTA Convention in Columbia, Missouri. I’m talking about the temperature, but it was also hot in the sense that it was well attended despite the hot, muggy weather. I enjoyed meeting and talking with a number of trappers from all over the USA.

By the time you read this our Fall Rendezvous at Marshfield, Wisconsin will be over for this year. The weather is beginning to have a brisk feeling to it now and then. After Labor Day trappers start thinking about fall. Then we head for the fur shed and round up the traps we’ll need for the season. I had some time to organize my trapping shed which hadn’t been done for some time. It feels good to have some order in there. Hope to be able to do some trapping this season.

From all indications it should be a good year for the number of fur available and the prices look to be good this year also.

We have an October Board of Directors Meeting on October 1, 2011. It will begin at 9:30 AM. It will be held at Crex Meadows. For directions to Crex Meadows you can check out their website.

Looking forward to Fall and will be doing some traveling. See you in October.

— Virgil Schroeder
