DISTRICT 1 REPORT

I would like to thank everyone that helped with District 1 fur sale. We had a good sale even though fur prices were down. Also, thanks to Todd Lewis, the new district director for District 2, for helping with the auction and to VTA president, Steve Colvin for coming down to sign up members and sell VTA merchandise. It is good to see the VTA membership on the rise.

District 1 has several events this year. We will be having a trapper training on May 24th at Hayter’s Gap Community Center near Clinch Mountain Wildlife Management Area. The address is: Hayter’s Gap Community Center, 7720 Hayter’s Gap Road, Washington, VA. Our family picnic will be held at the Bland fair grounds on August 16th. October 17-18 will be the Bland convention. We will be raffling another gun this year at the convention. It will be a Ruger 10/22 takedown. We will also be raffling some nice fleshing knives at all of our events this year. If anyone has any questions about any of our planned events, give me a call 276-210-7105. — Travis Bandy
