PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Hello Vermont trappers and supporters. It has certainly been a long hot stretch hasn’t it. I certainly like it warm out but 90 plus 90 % humidity is a little much. I will take 50 any day of the week. It seemed real good the other night when it got down to around 48 degrees with a real cool breeeze from the north. It reminds you of the good times ahead in the near future.
Now is the time to start asking permission for trapping rights through out your area. Do not wait until the week before season as the opportunities will be slim.
By now evry permission should be locked up and the equipment should be ready to go. Saves the last minute crunch by planning and implementing early.
One of the do not miss events is the Rendezvous in Barton on September 11 and 12 this year. It is two days of jam packed trapping fun. We have many vendors show up to sell everything you need to be successful this fall. Also included are demos all day long showing the latest tactics to fill the fur room.
There is camping on site, a muzzleloader shoot, a auction, tons of kids entertainment and the to die for supper Saturday night. It is a great place to meet new friends and get re-acquinted with your old friends. Sunday is the annual members meeting where this year we will be discussing a major possible change at the VTA so your attendance is very important. Your vote is most important so please stop in. I was going to tell you what is up but decided to keep it on the Q.T. , you have to be in attendance to find out.
Most importantly is there will be some key positions up for grabs in the VTA leadership. If you can attend one meeting a month for two hours you can fill one of these positions.
Also it is fair time as listed below:
Addison Field Days Aug. 10-14
Orleans Aug. 18-22
New England Trappers Weekend Maine Aug 26-28
Lancaster N.H. Fair 9 1-6
Vt. State Fair 9 3-12
Rendezvous 9 11-12 Advanced Trappers Class Sept 18-19
Please stop by and visit and buy your chance for the 10 gun raffle that will be drawn at Rendezvous.
So I hope to see you at Rendezvous. Enjoy the rest of the summer and I hope you have a very successful trapping season this fall.
