FUR SALE REPORT
Hope that your trapping season is going good for you. We have had some really wild weather this past month. Super cold, to rain and flooding. I guess that is what makes trapping the exciting endeavor that it is for us.
As most of you know the fur sale is set for February 11-13 in Nephi. We will be checking fur in on Friday and Saturday morning. The actual auction will be on Saturday and Sunday. If there is only enough fur for a one day sale it will be on Saturday. However, we are anticipating a two day sale. You will be receiving a flyer from the officers with actual times and exact information. The names of the people that you will need to call to tell how much fur you are bringing will be in the officers letter that you will receive. Consigning your pelts is a great help for the people working the sale as well as the buyers. If the buyers know how much fur there is then they can adjust their orders accordingly. If the buyers don’t know if a certain species is going to be at the sale, then they may not get an order for it. If the buyers know what species is at the sale as well as the total of each species then the trapper will do better on his pelts.
Remember, to donate a pelt or two to the donated fur. The proceeds will go to the scholarship fund.
If you have frozen pelts or frozen animals be sure to let me know. There are good orders for most all of your frozen pelts or animals. There is a good order for raccoons, badgers, ring tail cats, spotted skunk, mink, some coyote, gray fox, as well as muskrat and beaver. If you don’t want to put up your fur or if you don’t have time to put it up, then this might be a good option for you. As always, the trapper will pay no commission on frozen fur. The buyer will pay the commission. If you are interested feel free to call to make arrangements. Stan Bassett 435-245-4508
I look forward to seeing you at the sale. It is a good time if you are selling fur or if you just want to visit with your old friends or if you want to make new friends.
Best of luck.
— Stan
