Trapping for a Cure

Hello, my name is Daniel Drewes. I’m a dedicated trapper and hunter from Brodhead, Wis. For my senior year in school, I’m required to partake in a senior project. This is a project that must help the community.

This year, I would like to try to go above and beyond what any of my classmates would ever dream of doing with their projects. I would also love to be able to give trappers the name that we deserve.

Donate furs to fight cancerMost importantly, I would love to be able to help those that have the deadly disease of cancer. I have had family members and friends affected by cancer. One that was close to my heart was my neighbor. He was like a grandpa to me but died of cancer. I would love to be able to help save other people, maybe even your family and friends, by making the biggest American Cancer Society donation ever.

I have set up an account at North American Fur Auctions (NAFA) called The American Cancer Society. Anything that I trap this season will be auctioned off. The money in this account will then be donated to The American Cancer Society to help fight cancer and help those affected by the disease.

I don’t plan on doing this all by myself, though. I am asking you as fellow trappers or hunters to also donate furs to the cause. NAFA will be accepting donations of fur. The furs can range from weasels to wolves and from prime furs to ones you have messed up in the fur shed. There is
no limit on the furs that you can donate.

NAFA only asks that you pick out the furs that you would like to donate. Then put a tag on the fur saying that you would like it to go toward The American Cancer Society.

So, please donate what furs you can to the cause. I would love for this to be the biggest donation to The American Cancer Society ever, but I can’t do it without your help. I know this can be achieved with the support of all trappers and hunters.

If you have any questions, you can reach me at 608-897-4071, and if I’m not home, please leave a message.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
