PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Hello TFHA members and trappers. I would like to thank everyone for all their help in all the events we’ve had so far this year. Finally Summer is coming to an end and it is now time to start getting things ready for trapping season that will be here soon. I know I am at least ready for some cooler weather. TFHA still has a few more events this coming Fall. Sept 11th, is the Middle TN area mini rondy. We will have a cookout, but just ask that you bring a few drinks and/or a dessert dish. This will take place at the Shelbyville Park Pavilion. For more information, contact myself or Jerry Bowman. Also, you can contact Laura Smith to see if there is anything she needs that you might be able to bring or help out with.

Our State Convention is October 22nd and 23rd at Falls Creek Falls State Park. Our guest Speaker, and Demonstrator is going to be Newt Sterling. Be sure to come see how Newt has become one of the better trappers in the East by watching and learning his trapping and snaring techniques. There will also be other demos as well as plenty of things for the kids. On Saturday night we are planning a “Trick or Treat” night, so be sure to bring a costume for yourself as well as for the kids. We have other events planned for all ages as well.

I would like to mention again, that we are putting together a “Scrap Book” of the history of the TFHA, but we can only do this with your help. What we need from you is any pictures, stories, published articles, fur sales receipts, or any personal stories you can write down that you want to put in there concerning TFHA is welcome. There is a little more information about this on the web site.

I encourage all of you to check out the web site if you haven’t already and join up. This is “your” web site, so any information you want listed on there or think is relevant pertaining to trapping just let me know and we can get in on there.

Hope to see you all at an event soon, and if anyone needs to contact me for any reason, you can do so at 731 614-2531 or email to jlord2003@aol.com.

— James Lord
