PRESIDENT’S REPORT
I hope everyone’s Spring is going well, it has been long awaited. In my next report, there will be information regarding the SE NTA and our Spring Meet at Big Ridge State Park, at the time of this writing, of course these events haven’t occurred yet.
The next event we have coming up will be the Trapper Training camp at Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge near Dayton TN, just north of Chatanooga. For more info on that, be sure to contact John Daniel or Paul Antczak. I’m sure they can answer any questions you may have. I hope to see a lot of you there. It is always a great time and is very important for young and new trappers to have events like these to get them started in the right direction. As you know, the young ones are the future of trapping. Thank you to everyone that takes the time to help teach and mentor our young trappers and members,
The Certification Class held by Randy Husky and the TWRA was well attended, and I want to thank everyone that came out. This is a great program that is getting started, and is a very good step in the right direction for TWRA and Trappers. There will be future classes as well in other parts of the State and as information becomes available, I will pass it on. You will also be able to see the dates and times on both web sites of the TWRA and TFHA. Ours is www.tfhaonline.net, and I hope to see more “traffic” on the web site, and if anyone has any information they would like “posted” on it, be sure to let me know and we can get it listed. With trapping season over for now, other than beaver control work, there will be a little more time to commit to the web site and hopefully get it completed and up to date.
Even thought the SE NTA hasn’t happened yet, as I mentioned earlier; I still want to get a quick “Thank You” out to all the Volunteers that helped out with the event. Also a special thanks goes out to the Georgia Trappers Association for everything you all have done to help make sure the event is a success, as I am sure it will be.

VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT
I hope this report finds everyone well I hear I missed a good meeting at Big Ridge.Our trapper training camp was a success again this year. We had somewhere between sixty five and seventy people in attendance. We signed up around six new n.t.a. members and around eight or nine t.f.h.a.members.
Thanks so much for the hard work from every one who helped. Mark and Laura Smith, Greg Web, Nancy and Allen Rodgers,Douge Mckenzie, Wendall Reeves, Paul Antczak and Betty Straub.Your help and the help of all the others who have been involved over years is the only reason that the Hiwassee has been such a success. I’d like to extend a speacial thanks to Josh and Amanda Smith.
They supplied the food this year which was a big help to me. Josh was our coon trapping instructor this weekend and did a great job. I have watched Josh grow up in T.F.H.A. an it is truly gratifying to see these young people step in and assume a leadership role in our organization. T.F.H.A. is proud of both of you.
Our next meeting will be at Cherokee State park in july hope to see every one there.If anyone wants to have a meeting in your area or have a booth at a function in your area let either James, Paul or myself know and we’ll help you get it organized.

SECRETARY’S REPORT
Hello everyone, I hope the beginning of summer is well for all? Our Big Ridge meet went smoothly and several plans are in effect for our Fall Creek Falls convention. New t-shirt designs and going up on individual membership was a few of the topics discussed. Going up on the price of membership is due to the price of the T&PC has went up. Changing the logos around on the t-shirts with maybe our e-mail address added.
We discussed other topics that will be brought to attention at Fall Creek Falls convention this year on Oct. 22 – 24, 2010. Our next meet will be at Cherokee National Park on July 17th 2010. District 5 meeting will be hosted by Allen and Nancy Rogers and Betty Stroub. Thanks to all the people who helped at the Hiwasee Trapper Training Camp. It was a pleasure to see a good number of kids present.

STATE ORGANIZER’S REPORT
First I want to apologize for not having a report in last issue.
Wow April was a busy month. The Southeastern was a great time. Georgia and us joined together and put on a great show. I met a lot of trappers and a few new friends. I was asked to do a demo on Sunday morning it was not only an honor but it went great. It went on for 2 hours. Thanks to all the TFHA members that showed up to volunteer.
If you missed the spring meet at Big Ridge I’m sorry because we had some of the best demos in a long time. Thanks Doug McKenzie, Stan Meyers, James Lord and Laura Denison for the effort you put in to teach that Saturday. And the Lady fur harvesters out did there selves again! Wonderful food!
I just got back from the trapper training camp it’s hot and again I feel like there are 1000 seed ticks on me. That’s fine because it was all worth it. Josh Smith you did a great job on your demo’s! We had a lot of guys and gals from Georgia. Thanks everyone for your donations and participation. If you think these trapper training camps aren’t for you, You maybe wrong. I learn every time we have one. And you are also missing out on great fellowship with other trappers. Thanks John Coakley and the Childresses for showing up with supplies.
You don’t want to miss Fall Creek falls this October. We will have costume contest for the kids and other fun things are planned so stay tuned. We will also be voting on some things during the membership meeting. So show up and be heard. I’m excited for the fall meet, It will be nice and cool and the leaves will be changing. So watch the weather around that time you may want to bring a heater for the cabin.
If you don’t know I got married! Yep you heard me right. The Lord blessed me with a faithful woman that supports me and what I do. Here name is Sue. Say hi to her at fall creek falls, She will be the pretty blonde with a smile!. I also am blessed to have a stepdaughter now named Kaitlin. I am very proud of her at the southeastern she won the trap setting contest for her age group!
My ADC business is doing well. The Lord is blessing me in these hard times. I’m also getting time to take care of the farm. We rolled our first field of hay last week. My gut still hurts from sneezing! I hope all your chains are pulled tight! — Paul Antczak
NTA DIRECTOR’S REPORT
This has been a busy couple of months for the N.T.A. with the regional leadership conferences ,kicking off the regional conventions, getting ready for the appeal in the Maine Lynx case and the foot loose Montana petition in the works. The south eastern regional convention cost hosted with Ga. went very smooth thank you for all the T.F.H.A. members who helped out.
The G.T.A. is a great group, working with them was great. Several folks in both groups have indicated the desire to have a joint rondy some where close to the Ga. Tenn. line next year. I think it would be good to continue this new relationship with our Ga. brothers and sisters.
By the time you read this you should have received a new fundraiser letter from the N.T.A. included in this letter you will find a letter and membership applications for a membership drive. If you sign up three new members you qualify for a drawing for either a hunting, fishing or trapping trip. Also who ever you sign up get put in a drawing as well. This is a good chance to win a nice trip.
The nationals is coming up soon in Wisconsin. I hope everyone who wants to go makes it, it promises to be a good time.
Don’t forget to encourage someone to join the N.T.A. It’s very important to your trapping future to have a national organization to look out for your rights.
