PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Hello fellow NC trappers, I hope this report finds you doing well. September is upon us and with it comes the beginning of fall and our annual convention. I would like to invite all who read this report to join us in Smithfield,NC at the livestock arena on the 27th and 28th of September for 2 days of trapping bliss.
As always, there will be demos by some of the best trappers in the country, vendors on hand to supply you with all the latest in trapping gear, contests to show off your outdoor skills and the company of some of the finest folks that you ever will meet. We will be raffling off a Ruger 10/22, a Mossberg 835 12 ga.w/31/2” chamber and a Creekboat. Also, please bring items for the auction and join in the fun as we try to out bid one another for the items up for bid.
Sharon Underwood and the ladies auxiliary will again be hard at work with everything from the bake sale to the kids contests and Friday and Saturday lunches. If you have the time, they can always use some help and that includes us guys.
The high point for me is always the Friday night cookout. If you have never attended it, you’re missing out. Our crew of cooks feed about 150 people on average and no one goes away hungry or disappointed.
We are still nailing down the details and I will get them onto our website as soon as possible.
Well, that’s all that I have for now. I hope to see you all at the convention. Please remember to take a youngster with you on any of your outdoor activities. You will find that it is time well spent. — Tony W. White
