PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Guys, this is the time for us to be heard. Please e-mail at least, but call also if you can, or both the people on the list below. This will put the fox in with the coyote and put the county fox laws in the hands of the NCWRC (which trust me, they are on our side).

This is the select committee on Coyote Nuisance Control. Please let me stress the importance of sticking to the subject. We are in favor of “A statewide fox trapping season for coyote control.”

1) It would allow us to trap in counties we now have no interest in trapping due to the counties that don’t have a fox season.

2) This is a recommendation from the NCWRC. We are just in support of it.

3) It would give the NCWRC much better information on fox populations and coyote population due to the trapper’s survey.

4) We (NCTA and the NCWRC) have a trapping education program in place and being taught state wide.

The names below are in the order of importance for calling. We should call everyone, but if someone can only call one or two then they should call in this order.

Call, e-mail or both.

It can only help if people would call more including the Wildlife committee Representatives:

Cleveland

Steen

West

Wray

Cole

Ingle

Love

Lucas

McLawhorn

Rhyme

Spear

Their information can be found at www.ncga.state.nc.us.

Plus calling your district NCWRC Wildlife Commissioners. Their information can be found at ncwildlife.org.

We do not need to bring up or even talk about snares. Let’s do one thing at a time. We will need to stay on subject.

Thanks!

— Rodney Stancil
