VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT

I hope everyone is having a good season. We have been working to replace Marty, but it will not be easy. He did so much for this group. Jimmy Sapio has taken over as secretary and Fred StIne has taken over as the NTA representative. All that is left is a new president, and we will have all the officers filled.

I have been told that NAFA has cancelled their January sale. It seems there is still to much uncertainty in the fur market. Perhaps things will settle down after the first of the new year. I hope so. Remember we will only have one sale this year, March 20-21. For more information, call me at 973-697-2981.

The beaver and otter check in will be Feb. 20. If you cannot make it on that day, be sure to call and make other arrangements. If you fill your otter tag, you must turn the carcass into Fish & Wildlife. They need the bodies for research on reproduction and heavy metals. This is very important.

Remember we meet every month at different locations. If you would like to attend, call and we will put you on the mailing list. This is your association, come on out and see what we do to keep trapping alive in this state. Right now, we are working on changes to the game code. Hopefully the council will feel they are for the better and pass some of them.

That’s it for this month. Remember, be safe, have fun and take a kid with you.

— Jim DeStephano
