PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Hello to all,

I hope everyone is doing well. By the time you read this, we should be half way through the hot and muggy days of summer. Convention season is in full swing, so get your supplies now. On July 24th we had our summer meeting and BBQ. It was held at Ed McCay’s home in Nesco. Ed has a really nice place and is one great host. Thanks Ed for all the work you did for our BBQ, it was great.

Our guest speaker/member Andrew Burnett (our state fur bearer biologist) gave his report, which covered the states approved bear hunt, species specific traps, beaver seasons, coyote numbers, and many of the member’s questions. Thanks Andy

We had a good turn out for the meeting and we went over a lot of things to come. The trappers education classes should be as follows; the southern class sept.18-19,

Central class oct.14-17, north class oct.23-24. Just check the NJF&G web site for changes. We will be at the Tuckerton Gunning and Decoy show again this year. Sept.25-26. It is a fun day for the whole family see you their.

We also went over some plans for our convention, which will be on, Nov. 7th this year. We should have some good Demos lined up for you also. We decided to have a Dunn knife and a painted stretcher board raffle this year; the stretcher board will be a mink eyeballing a muskrat so it should look awesome. I would also like to thank Carl Mellaby for donating a muskrat hat and Ron Jones (Red necks pride) for donating a few jars of bait and lure, for our auction, Thanks.

There are some other events that the NJFH should set up at. The problem is we are a little short on volunteers. If any one would like to help out at one of the shows give me a call.

While you are going threw your trapping things for the up coming season and you think you could donate something for our auction, please bring it to the convention or call me , I will find a way to pick it up. Thanks and talk to you next month.

— Ron Diehl

MEMBERSHIP OFFICER’S REPORT

NJFH Members,

I sure had a great time at Ed McCay’s place on July 24! Although it was hot the food was great and the beverages was cold. I would like to thank Ed for inviting the NJFH to his place and making some good venison steaks!

Hopefully by the time this comes to print the T&PC got the new renewal slips corrected. The renewal slips that you get in the mail for the T&PC magazine has my name on it but Ron Deihl’s address. If you receive a renewal slip with the wrong address please correct it my address, which is:

 Curtis Haberman
 500 Pennsylvania Ave.
 Somers Point NJ 08244

If you have any questions about your membership status or the T&PC, please email me and I will try to answer any questions you might have. I hope you enjoy the rest of the summer and try to stay cool.

— Curt Haberman
