PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Well by now things have begun to calm down a little bit. It is time to go over your traps and make sure they are ready for next season. Man I wish that was the case for the officers and directors. Instead we are running to leadership conferences, regional meets, and other things. Somehow no matter how hard I try, the next season still is on us before we are ready. But they are still fun. And a chance to meet friends from all over the country. People we only get to see once or twice a year.

For those of you who had fur in our March sale that was a pleasant surprise. It seemed everyone was caught off guard by the prices. All I heard on the way out was “ if I only knew what these prices were going to be I would have worked harder”. Of course then there would have been plenty of fur, and the buyers would not have been fighting over what was there. That is how the game goes. But most of us are not in this for the money, it is just what we do.

Please remember when those for you who go online and post comments and pictures, Be Careful. What to us is just a comment or picture of a day on the line is also being read by people who may not understand what we do. There are people who monitor everything that we say and do. They are just looking for anything that can be used to make us look bad. So watch what you say and show. Think about how others may react to these things. Everything you say and do reflects on all of us. Also there are people who will say they want to be a trapper, but only want do things that will reflect badly on those of us who are really trapping.

Oh well thats enough time on my soapbox. Remember get out there, have fun, and take a kid with you. They are our future. — Jim DeStephano
