PRESIDENT’S REPORT

NJFH Members,

This past trapping season was one of the worst ever for us because of the weather. Even when we can get out to tidal muskrat trap it was either icy, snowy, windy or the tide was up too high! I went out every day that the weather let me and I still got out to trap half the amount of time that I normally do. We still had fun, just not as much. At the time of writing this, I am planning to go muskrat trapping with Rick Kern and they are calling for coastal flooding so this should be just another adventure of trapping this year!

This will be my last report as president because I will be stepping down at the Spring meeting. I am not leaving the NJFH and will take on another job, but it is time for the NJFH to have another president. We need new ideas and energy to make the NJFH successful in the future.
The NJFH sent newsletters out at the beginning of March and if any of our members didn’t get one, please contact one of our officers and we’ll get it straightened out. We are now sending our newsletters out through e-mail and it makes it easier and saves the NJFH a lot of money rather than sending it snail mail. I think it looks a lot better on the computer and the pictures look great! Just send your e-mail to Jay and he will be sure to put your name on the list — jemounier@juno.com.

I need to get going because the tide is going out, sorry for the short report.

— Curt Haberman
