DISTRICT 8 REPORT
First meeting for the season and five trappers attending. Actually not so bad since it is only September. We started up a month early, since October is our election meeting. We are really hoping for some support from the trappers from Kent and Queen Anne’s counties. Come help us decide our direction for the next two years.
Our meeting was highlighted by trapper Joe Ragan from Rising Sun, Md driving all that way to attend and contribute his trapping thoughts to us.
We had a discussion on the various parts of our annual convention, a little on fur buyers, trapping areas, methods, fur put up, etc. Each trappers was given a chance to discuss anything about their trapping adventures or methods.
Dist 8 presented host Bob Calloway with a current duck stamp to add to his collection. We like to do something for Bob and Verna for hosting our meetings. What Bob really needs is a new mounted deer head.
It is time for finishing trap adjustments, start fur scouting, obtain written trapping permissions and gear up for another trapping season. Everything done now saves time during the season. Think about it.
Dist 8 welcomes and encourages visitors to our meetings. Come join us and share you trapping thoughts.
Dist 8 meets the fourth Tuesday of each month during trapping season at 7:00 PM at the home of Bob Calloway. His address is 14313 Cherry Lane and is located near Tuckahoe State Park, between Centreville, Md and Ridgely, Md. The Mason Branch Bridge near Bob’s house is being rebuilt. So, new visitors may want to call Bob at 410-634-2501 for further directions. The bridge is scheduled to be completed by our December meeting.
I can be reached at 410-634-2552 or at rogerringgold@yahoo.com.
Trap on my friends.
