DISTRICT 8 REPORT

Here comes fur season. By now your trap repair, dying and waxing, dry dirt collection and all other loose ends should be completed. Now only the written permission signatures need to be attained.

It is now decided – the MFTI convention will have a new location and a slightly different time slot next year. Our new location will be the Washington County Ag Center in Washington County. I am told this location is only about three miles from our previous site at Fairplay, Md. The date will be August 7-8, 2015. Different from our usual third weekend in August date.

Fur prices are currently a big mystery. They mostly depend on factors out of our control. As usual it is a sit back and see situation. Attending your district meeting is a good way to stay informed. Opinions and quotes come in from several sources. Come and contribute your knowledge and help out others. Meeting are open to MFT members and guests, not just district members. It is fine to live in one district and attend meeting in another district. We will also help you sign up as a MFT member if you have not done that yet.

Dist 8 meets the fourth Tuesday during trapping season at 7:00 PM at the home of Robert Calloway. His address is 14313 Cherry Lane, near Tuckahoe State Park, between Centreville, Md and Ridgely, Md. Call Bob at 410-634-2501 for further directions.
