PRESIDENT’S REPORT
This has to be one of the worst trapping seasons in the last 30 plus years that I can remember. If it warms up over 32 degrees, it rains. If it isn’t raining, it snows and gets down into the single digits. Fur prices are the lowest I have seen in years, but gas is the cheapest I have seen in years. Maybe we need this kind of a season to help rebound prices.
Our fur sale is Jan. 17 at Miami County Fairgrounds in Peru, IN. Doors open at 7 a.m. Sale starts at 9 a.m. Coffee will be served.
The Boat and Turkey Expo is Feb. 20 to 22 in Indianapolis at the Fairgrounds. We could use some help at the booth.
Our spring newsletter will be out in March. So send your stories, pictures, etc. to Amy Crum. She and Monica Olson are the two in charge of putting it all together.
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
— Ron Elliott
SECRETARY’S REPORT
Our next BOD meeting will be held March 1 at Bill Lewis’ home. Meanwhile, we hope to see many of you at the Indianapolis Boat Sport and Travel Show Feb. 20 to 22. Our raffle this year will be for a Savage .204 varmint rifle as first prize and a Ruger .22LR 10/22 second.
The INDNR would like to have us do trapping demos during their Fall Expo in September. This would be all day Saturday and Sunday and they are expecting 10,000 or more people there. We would need lots of volunteers to make this happen so please let any of the officers know if you could be counted on to help.
Hope your trapping has been good.
— Stu Grell
