DIRECTOR’S REPORT
I don’t have a lot of new news out there from the state of Idaho. Even though no trapping laws are changing due to wolverines and lynx issues, don’t pretend this subject is over forever. The anti’s will use anything as a way to chip away at our trapping rights; whether it is trap check laws, wolf trapping, or the remote chance we catch a threatened species (lynx, wolverine). The Idaho Trappers Association is dedicated to fighting all of these threats and will continue to be working towards protecting trapping for generations to come.
Even though it happened a few months ago, I would just like to announce Andy White has been appointed our new secretary and Angel Lovan has been voted in as director. I’m excited for both of these new additions. It has came to our attention that some memberships have lapsed and not received renewal notices. Andy White is working on getting the membership info updated and some of that was lost with the passing of Michelle last year. If you know anyone that has a membership that has expired or you have a address or email change, PLEASE contact Andy White and he will get the info updated. He is working really hard on getting memberships updated and expanding our membership. Andy was instrumental in getting the word in the papers and on-line out for the right to hunt, fish and trap constitutional amendment (HJR-2) vote last year and for getting our Facebook page up and running. Fall is right around the corner start getting those traps checked and ready. — Rusty Kramer
