HISTORIAN’S REPORT

Gander Mountain in Thornton has an event coordinator, Matthew Judd, for there and the Aurora store. He has set up seminars for Predator Calling (November 19 and 20, 2011), waterfowl, fly fishing and other things. He is a caller himself and has participated in many of the regional calling events and has done very well. He also has contracts with some entities around the metro area to control coyotes.

He contacted Gary Crawford and asked for a seminar on skinning, trapping, whatever we could put together, Gary was working so I contacted him and said we could do that. He will be at the Spring meeting in Hugo to tell us what he wants and of course Gander Mountain would be willing to donate to our auction.

Anyone who wishes to participate can let me or Gary know and we will be setting up a date for the seminar, probably after the Rendezvous.

NATIONAL WESTERN STOCK SHOW

BOOTH MANAGER’S REPORT

The 2011 National Western Stock Show booth was another great success thanks to all the wonderful volunteers. We would like to, especially, thank Marilyn Meador for her many years of being our primary cashier. We would also like to thank Ryan Clifford for all his data entry which is the reason we can get things done so quickly.

Each year some of the profits from the booth fund two college scholarships for any Colorado high school senior. The booth also provides a fur coat for Miss Rodeo Colorado. She spends several hours in our booth each year signing autographed pictures and promoting fur.

On school field trip days, we see hundreds of children and we provide them with free fur samples and information about fur bearing animals and the need for trapping. We hope to see you all next year.

— Don Clifford
