PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Hello Here Again,
Well I would like to make a few comments about last month. But first off I want to say, I get phone calls each week and most I can understand. Some of them, please talk slower and lower. My thing is as high as it will go and I still cannot hear all. When you leave a phone number, say it slow so I can write it down. You know your number and I don’t, so say it slow please.
Now to my last letter. I sorta was hit and miss on the skinning of the fur thing. Well the way I looked at it if you are a trapper, you know what I was talking about. If you are just getting started and not sure, well after you skin the animal, put it where it cannot be seen, like in a hole in the ground or cover it with rocks. Where I trap is in the middle of private land, and like I said, the big birds come in, sometimes makes the hair in my neck stand up, but I like it.
The board members are working on wording for the new bobcat trapping regs. I will let you trappers know when they are done and Fish and Wildlife say they’re good.
I am not sure I like this trapping season as there has been little to no snow and no rain. Sets work good, but trees and other plants need water that down the trail makes better fur and more of it. Other plants need water to grow into food for us trappers. So you add it up. Good trapping. — John
