PRESIDENT’S REPORT
I would like to start this report with a big THANK YOU for the individuals that helped make the ATPCA Fall Rendezvous a big success. Specifically, Bob and Paula Crane for doing the lion’s share of the work in setting up for the event and preparing an outstanding catfish dinner; Mike Sievering for arranging for the laser shot and archery venues; Vickie Sievering for all of her work over the last year and the layout and publishing of the ATPCA newsletter;. Jackie Malone for the time he spent at the NTA Convention in Columbia, MO collecting auction donations and selling raffle tickets; and Mike Flohr and Steve Phillips for their help with the setup.
At the general meeting of the ATPCA membership, Bob Crane was elected vice president and Vickie Sievering was elected the membership secretary/treasurer.
The membership approved the Board’s recommendation to provide financial support to the NTA and FBU in 2012 at the same level as in 2011. In addition, the membership voted to support up to ten junior NTA memberships for graduated of the Cooperative Trapper Education Workshops in 2011-2012.
Mike Flohr, on behalf of NAFA, presented the ATPCA with a check in the amount of $146.63. The monies, as designated by NAFA, will be used to support out Trapper Ed program.
The 2011-2012 Cooperative Trapper Education Workshops are: December 2-4, 2011, Decatur, AL; December 16-18, 2011, Greensboro, AL; Barbour, County, AL, January 6-8, 2012; January 20-22, 2012, Rockford, AL; February 10-12, 2012, Spanish Fort, AL and February 17-19, 2012, Greeneville, AL. Please volunteer to be a mentor. You can volunteer for an entire weekend just or just one day. We need all the help we can get. Please call Mike Sievering at (205) 339-5716 and let him know when you can help.
The board set the tentative dated for the 2012 membership meetings as: Spring Meeting, March 24, 2012 and Fall Rendezvous, September 15 or 22, 2012. If you would like to see one of these meeting scheduled in your part of the state, please send me the information on the location and the cost of renting a facility. I need this information by January 1, 2012 so the board can finalize the dates and locations for 2012.
When you receive your renewal notice for the T&PC, please mail the two copies of the renewal notice along with your payment to Vickie Sievering , 291 Elam School House Road, Brent, AL 35034-2628, as soon as you receive it. If you procrastinate, you could miss an issue of the T&PC.
