PRESIDENT’S REPORT

I am writing this article on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, the day after our fall rendezvous so the following information is current as of this date. The following items were discussed and voted upon by the membership.

Effective Jan. 1, 2011, a year’s membership with the T&PC magazine will be increased to $22 per year, an increase of $2. The increase is necessary to cover costs associated with providing the T&PC magazine, postage and office supply costs.

The tentative date for the 2011 Spring Meeting is Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Steve Phillips house. The Fall Rendezvous is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 17, 2011 at Fosters, AL. If any member would like to see the Fall Rendezvous moved to their part of the state, please develop written proposal and send it to me so the BOD can review it.

The membership approved the Board’s recommendation for providing financial support to the NTA and FBY in 2011. In addition, the membership voted to support up to ten junior NTA memberships for graduated of the Cooperative Trapper Education Workshops in 2010-2011.

The Board has decided to try to publish two Alabama Trapper newsletters in 2011. The publications will replace the two meeting flyers that we now send out to current members. The plans are to mail the newsletters the first week on March and September.

The 2010 NAFA fur sales rebate check, which is specifically earmarked for Trapper Education, will be used to buy needed supplies for the Cooperative Trapper Ed classes this season.

The results of the officer elections were: Charlie Rath – President; Mike Flohr – Recording Secretary; and Vicki Sievering – Membership Secretary/Treasurer. I want to thank Bob Crane for performing the duties of the Treasurer over the last year

As a follow up to last month’s article when I mentioned that the Tennessee Fur Harvesters would be sponsoring a fur sale, the date is January 29, 2011 at South Pittsburgh, TN, for specific details please contact Scott Wilson (256)565-4451 or James Lord (731) 614-2531.

Mike Sievering still needs volunteer mentors for the Cooperative Trapper Education Workshop. Please give him a call at (205) 339-5716 and volunteer.

— Charlie Rath
